When creating a watercolor home portrait I can often work from an existing photo or I will take several photographs from different vantage points to choose from with ideal lighting. I can change or remove unwanted trees and obstacles, make special colors in bloom and really elevate the image to something special.
When painting a person’s watercolor portrait I can help you to choose a photograph that will work well for a painting, or I will schedule a complimentary photography session to capture the right image for your portrait. Good portrait images usually include a direct light source, good definition, and a candid or casual pose that captures the personality of the subject(s).
I also do custom acrylic commissions, painting custom size canvases for spaces with a particular palette and style, and I am happy to help you create something special for your living space.
All watercolor portraits are painted on Arches 100% Cotton Paper. I prefer to choose the matting for your portrait, as it is an important part of the overall composition and completed piece. Pricing is based on the size of the painting, the subject(s) and the amount of detail.
